A lot of people who have been to San Antonio talk all about the downtown area – namely the River Walk and the market, but there’s definitely more to San Antonio than downtown. My favorite area of this city has got to be the Rim. I may be biased because it’s also where we live, but still. The Rim is a strip mall comprised of a ton of great restaurants, shops, and more. Keep on reading for more ideas on what to do at the Rim in San Antonio.
Your Guide to the Rim in San Antonio
Eats/Drinks
Mash’d
This place has quickly become one of my favorites. They serve a lot of flavored moonshine and other great cocktails and have a great menu that can accommodate everyone. The atmosphere is chill and relaxed.
Hopdoddy
Hopdoddy is known for their burgers. It started in Austin and expanded to San Antonio earlier this year. Their happy hour is pretty awesome too.
General Public
To me, this is more of a place you go to drink than to eat because their menu is pretty small and curated. Every day at sunset the entire bar gets a shot on the house so that’s a definite plus and sets them apart from other bars in the area.
Lion and the Rose
This place boasts good food and good drinks. Their chips (fries) and beer cheese is definitely something you will want to try.
Hofbrau
This restaurant serves the best Dos a Ritas…except you can basically get anything you want dumped into a margarita. My favorites are the Dreamsicle and Bomb Pop. The Dreamsicle is orange soda, vodka, and margarita mix and the Bomb Pop is a Mike’s hard dumped into margarita mix. They also have some pretty dang good chips and queso.
Stonewerks
This place has got a huge variety on their menu in addition to some pretty good drink options. They also have live music on the weekends which is definitely fun.
Cosi
My husband really likes this place because it has pretty healthy choices so I thought I’d add it to my list. There aren’t too many locations across the US so you’ll totally want to give this restaurant a try.
Shops
Home Goods/TJ Maxx
Because who doesn’t love Home Goods or TJ Maxx? I know that this girl sure does.
Nordstrom Rack
Another fun place to shop at if you’re looking for a good pair of shoes or some workout gear.
DSW
If I’m looking for a new pair of shoes, DSW is one of the first places I go. If you’ve ever been there, you know that they have aisles upon aisles of shoes.
Dick’s Sporting Goods
Dick’s has the best workout gear out there. I can always do some serious damage here.
Entertainment
Santiko’s Palladium
This is my favorite movie theatre of all time. They have food, beer, and typical concessions options including ICEEs. Who doesn’t love a huge ICEE at the movie theatre? I can’t sing this place’s praises enough.
TopGolf
I know there are other cities with TopGolf, but for those of you who haven’t been to a TopGolf, you need to at some point. It’s a lot of fun and a great opportunity for a fun hang out with friends. I’m not the greatest golfer but I always have a blast at this place.
iFly
I have actually never been to iFly but I have heard it’s pretty fun. iFly is an indoor skydiving place. I have been wanting to go skydiving for a long time so I think this would be the perfect way to warm myself up to actual skydiving.
