As some of you may already know, I’m dropping down to part time hours at my day job starting November 14th. I have been basically working part time for the past month to use up my vacation days before making the transition to part time so I been kind of been able to get a bit of a schedule going. The reason I am doing this is so that I can focus more on my biz Confetti Social and this blog. Eventually I will leave my company all together but I didn’t want to fully quit my job and have no backup income. So without further ado, here’s my work from home routine.
8 am – Wake Up // On a regular day, I get up at 7 am because in addition to having to get dressed for work I always have a 30 minute commute but on the days I work from home I wake up at 8 am and then get ready for my day which means putting on something comfortable that isn’t pajamas and having a little breakfast before heading into my office.

8:30-10 am – Time to work // Once 8:30 hits, I stroll into my office and get started for the day. After checking my email and social media channels, I begin to work on client work. I have found that I’m most productive in the afternoons because I’m not a morning person so I don’t do any content creation for my blog or email list until then so that my thoughts are a little more composed and I don’t experience any cases of morning brain.
10 am – Quick Break // I have found that I work best in increments of an hour and a half so I try to take a break every hour and a half so that I don’t start getting lost in the depths of the internet. During this time, I throw some laundry in the wash, tidy up the apartment, or give myself a little time to casually browse my own social media on my phone.
10:15 am-12:00 pm – Back to Work // At this time I continue to work on client work until that’s completed and then move on to checking Facebook groups to answer any questions or seek out new clients or scheduling things to go out on social media in MeetEdgar. Some days I have more client work than others, it just really depends.
12:00 – 1:00 pm – Lunch Time // I allow myself a full hour for lunch time so that I can enjoy my food in my living room while watching a little mindless television. It’s good to get my eyes away from the computer every so often because anyone who works at a computer all the time knows how straining it can be on your eyes.
1:00 – 3:00 pm – Work Work Work // In the afternoon I like to spend time creating content for my blogs and work on writing out the weekly email for both blog’s email lists. I will also fit in some more time to peruse FB groups if time allows. Since I took a longer break for lunch I will work straight until 3 pm.
3:00 – 3:30 pm – Workout/Run Errands // I usually try to fit in a workout at this time or run a quick errand if necessary. I typically just workout at home or go for a quick walk and then it’s back to work.
4:00 – 5:00pm – Final Hour of Work // My final hour of work is spent tying up any loose ends and checking my client’s social media channels one last time to make sure everything’s good to go before shutting down for the night.
After my work day has ended, I still respond to inquiries and do business related stuff like Twitter Chats and engaging with people on my own social media channels so although I have left my office and am no longer working on client work, I am still working on my own blog or business but I wouldn’t have it any other way.
I hope you enjoyed reading my work from home routine!
