Wedding Trends to Follow in 2016

February 11, 2016

Hey y’all! Today I am featuring my first ever guest poster, Emma! As someone who’s currently in the midst of wedding planning it was so fitting when Emma reached out to me to do this post. I have been loving reading all things wedding and this post is no exception. Now without further ado, here are some wedding trends to follow in 2016.

Wedding Trends to Follow in 2016

Even though 2016 has barely started yet, nothing can stop the love that two young people want to commemorate as soon as possible. Therefore, some new and exciting wedding ideas for this year have already marked their arrival to ensure the uniqueness and memorable moments for the couple’s big day. Here are 5 wedding trends to follow in 2016.

WeddingTrends – The nude look of a wedding gown

Inspired by Kate Middleton’s lacy dress, the designers started incorporating more and more of this beautiful intricate fabric into the wedding gowns. These dresses are tastefully revealing, combining the elegant showing of the skin, usually at the back and the gentleness of the fine fabric. In 2016, this combo of sexy and innocent bridal dress is expected to go even further with Galia Lahav’s take on a bit more extreme lace tattoo gorgeous wedding dresses.

Wedding Trends – Welcome to the Cocktail Party

Instead of a traditional wedding party, couples all over the world are opting for the cocktail reception! This is especially glamorous for smaller weddings. Bartenders are all over the place, constantly serving cocktail drinks and food so that the guest would feel like part of some grand old Hollywood party. The best thing about this trend is that everything can be personalized, from different kinds of drinks and glasses to the choice of ‘mini’ foods that are sure to actually fill everyone’s stomachs without interrupting the party time.

Wedding Trends – Sweets, Snacks, and Coffee

Nothing is going to replace the traditional wedding cake, not even in 2016, but there are some interesting additions to the refreshments. Extra tables full of different kinds of sweets and snacks that can include whatever you desire, from candy, cookies, fruit tarts to popcorn, all sugar coated with the colors of the wedding theme are a hot new trend that already marked this year. Not only that, guests can enjoy these delicate dishes together with sipping various kinds of coffee, like in some kind of a vintage brunch.

Say goodbye to the traditional wedding halls

This year is all about the uniqueness and personality of the happy couple and therefore do not let the wedding venue stop you! Choose whatever place you want for the most important day of your life. It can be a park, opening in the woods, a library, warehouse, barn, brewery, etc. There are so many options and you only have to think about the place that holds the most perfect memories for you and your darling.

Little fairies

If you want a fairy tale wedding, but are not so keen on organizing specific theme, you do not have to worry a lot! Ask your relatives and friends who have daughters if their girls could be flower girls at your wedding ceremony. Is there anything more reminiscent of a fairy tale then the innocence and purity of a child’s smile? Dressed all in white, with little wings and carrying beautiful flower girl baskets, they can make your wedding day dream-like.

The most important thing among all the trends emerging this year is to ask yourself and your loved one what is it that you want and organize this perfect day according to your wishes, and not someone else’s. The time when ‘things were meant to be done in a certain way’ has long passed and in this day and age it is all about expressing yourself and your creativity.

I hope y’all enjoyed reading Emma’s input on what wedding trends to follow in 2016. I had no idea that a lot of these things were currently trending which is sad because I am in full on wedding planning mode.
