Today I am sharing some tips on how to use StumbleUpon to increase your traffic. A couple of months ago I rediscovered this website called StumbleUpon. Back when it first became popular and before I was even a blogger, I would spend hours randomly stumbling others posts and not really knowing what kind of impact it truly made. Back in November after reading a lot of things about StumbleUpon and how it was good for blog traffic, I decided to give it a try for myself and I found that it pretty yielded excellent results and is now my 2nd highest traffic driver to Breakfast at Lilly’s.
How to Use StumbleUpon to Increase your Traffic
- Stumble others posts // Stumbling others posts is key. Apparently StumbleUpon will stop recognizing your own submissions if you do it too often without submitting others content, so make sure to balance out how much you stumble your own posts and others.
- Utilize StumbleUpon Threads in FB groups // I feel like I wouldn’t have had as much success without doing this. Certain blogger Facebook groups that I am in have StumbleUpon threads where you can submit your post for others to stumble and you just leave the category that you want the post to be stumbled in. This has been so essential for me in growing my traffic via SU.
- Add a StumbleUpon share button to your blog // If you don’t have a StumbleUpon button on your blog, get one immediately. This is necessary for people to stumble your content and is required to have if you plan on participating in StumbleUpon Facebook threads.
- Stumble people’s posts whenever possible // The more you stumble, the more StumbleUpon prioritizes your posts and shows them to other StumbleUpon users. If I were you, I would try to take about 15 minutes or so out of each day to log onto StumbleUpon and stumble some posts organically.
The posts that got the most traffic were pretty random if we’re being honest. Here are three of the posts that vent semi “viral” on StumbleUpon: Workout Jams, Recent Beauty Buys and Blogger Bestie Gift Guide. I don’t really think there’s a true rhyme or reason to going “viral” on StumbleUpon, it’s all based on what categories that you are using and how often you submit other’s content to the website so make sure you’re following those two key steps and you will eventually begin to see loads of traffic with StumbleUpon.
Have you ever used StumbleUpon? Feel free to let me know your experiences with StumbleUpon down in the comments. If you haven’t used it just yet, I suggest you get on board to increase your traffic with StumbleUpon asap. Hope y’all enjoyed this post!
