How to Increase Your Blog Traffic With Pinterest

September 21, 2016

Oh, Pinterest. I have you to attribute for being a complete game changer for driving traffic to my blog. I went from under 5k monthly pageviews to over 12k in just one month which is crazy growth if you ask me. Today I’m going to share how to increase your blog traffic with Pinterest and what worked for me.

Increase Your Blog Traffic With Pinterest

Increase Your Blog Traffic with Pinterest

  1. Got strategic with my pinning strategy // Because my Pinterest traffic was becoming stagnant, I devised a plan to make Pinterest work for me. Currently I’m pinning around 35-40 pins per day to my own boards and group boards. Although that is a lot of pins per day, the Smart Feed will ensure that you’re not spamming your followers all day. Within those 30-45 pins, I pin both my own and others content. It’s essential to share more than just your own content, trust me.
  2. Utilized a Pinterest Scheduler // Personally I use Boardbooster because I can set it and forget it and also because of the automatic looping feature. I know a lot of people who use Tailwind also. It really depends on your personal preference considering neither scheduler is too pricy. I recommend testing out both scheduler’s free trials and figuring out which one you like better.
  3. Joined active group boards in my niche // Group boards have been absolutely essential to my Pinterest strategy. When you join group boards, you maximize your chances of your pins being seen and repinned by others. Some niches are harder to find group boards for but if that’s the case then you can create your own. I also make sure to pins other’s pins on group boards so that I’m not just spamming the boards with my content.
  4. Cleaned up my Pinterest profile // Performing a deep clean on your Pinterest profile will work wonders. First, I went through and cleaned up my profile by getting rid of any boards that weren’t relevant to my niche. I also applied for rich pins to help my pins stand out in the feed. Another tactic I used was started using SEO keywords in all of my pin descriptions. I also employed a few other methods that you can check out if you enroll in my Pinterest email course below.
