How to Prep for Wedding Day

October 17, 2016

Disclaimer: This post was in collaboration with Smile Brilliant but as always, all opinions are my own. Thank you for supporting brands that support Breakfast at Lilly’s.

As I have talked about a million times on Breakfast at Lilly’s, my wedding is less than a month away – 25 days to be exact so I’m in the process of completing the final preparation to get ready for the big day. If you’re interested, check out more wedding related posts. Continue reading for some tips and tricks on how to prep for wedding day.

How to Prep for Wedding Day

Hair and makeup trials // I would suggest doing a hair and makeup trial with your hair/makeup artist at some point leading up to the big day to ensure that you absolutely love what style they’ve given you. It would sure be frustrating to hate your hair and makeup come wedding day.

Diet & Work out // This has been one of the most difficult parts of the wedding prep process because I really enjoy junk food but if we’re being honest, dieting has been easier than finding time to work out but now since we’re 25 days out I need to implement both to ensure that I look my best. I just keep telling myself it’s only a few weeks so I’m not as miserable.

Spray tan // I actually haven’t tested this one out yet, but it’s on my wedding to-do list. I’m a fairly pale person so I need all the help I can get in getting a tan. I’m all for taking good care of my skin, so I prefer a spray tan over actually going in a tanning bed.

Figure out your wedding day mani/pedi situation // I’ve been testing new colors for awhile and have decided on a light pink for my nails and a french manicure for my toes. If my nails are long enough during wedding week, I may switch to a french for both my mani and pedi because I really like the classic look of it.

Whiten your teeth // For me, this is one of the most important ways to prep for wedding day. As someone who used to regularly drink soda, my teeth are not as white as I want them to be so I have been religiously using Smile Brilliant to prep for the wedding day and all the festivities leading up to it. The two best parts about Smile Brilliant are that the formula is great for people with sensitive teeth and it works really well to remove stains on your teeth. Also, you can’t forget how easy they are to use with their custom made trays that are fit specifically to your teeth.

Teeth Whitening Kit c/o Smile Brilliant

First, you use the whitening gel anywhere from 45 minutes to 3 hours. Then you brush your teeth as normal and then put on the desensitizing gel for around 15 to 20 minutes. Then you go about the rest of your evening and leave the desensitizing gel on your teeth throughout the night. You’ll wake up with a whiter and brighter smile. Not going to lie, I was a little concerned because it left a little white film across my teeth when I was done using the desensitizing gel but it was completely gone by morning. I have read that’s normal and even confirmed with my friend at Seersucker Sass to make sure I wasn’t the only one. If you’re interested in trying out this product yourself you can either enter the giveaway below or use the coupon code breakfastatlillys for 5% off your purchase.
