Hey y’all! Happy Tuesday. Today I am going to be sharing my engagement party recap. Unfortunately I only have a few photos because apparently I forgot that I was a blogger during most of the party and didn’t take any photos of the decor or anything but eh I guess that’s okay.
Engagement Party Recap
Not going to lie, I know this isn’t my most flattering photo ever but it was the only picture I had with all of my bridesmaids (minus my big because she lives all the way in Florida now). Anyway, the whole engagement party was a ton of fun and the weekend just completely flew by, sadly. The morning of the engagement party we went to brunch and had a wonderful breakfast and some mimosas of course. Then after that we headed to a place called World of Beer to have a few more drinks before it was time to go back to my parent’s house and get ready for the evening…or at least for the ladies.
Once we all got back to the house, we began to get ready for the night and prepared ourselves for the other guests who would be arriving soon. The guests in attendance were both Michael and I’s families and our wedding party. It was a pretty small get together but it was so nice getting to see everyone and get to catch up since most of us live in different cities. It was also nice for everyone to get to know each other a little better since the bridal party and groomsmen had never met before.
My wedding colors are navy, pink, and gold so my mom decorated the house in those colors and had the CUTEST decorations imaginable. I am still kicking myself for not getting any pictures of all of the decor. My mom served heavy appetizers along with some fettuccine and breadsticks. Once we were done eating, we had a champagne toast and some dessert. My mom got this adorable cupcake formation that looked just like an engagement ring. She’s seriously the cutest. We continued to mix and mingle and hang out. Eventually Michael’s family headed out and my parents decided to hit the hay as well. After that, all of the wedding party played Taboo and Heads Up until it was time to go to sleep.
All in all, we had a really fun time and plan to host another function with the entire wedding party again sometime this summer. My main goal is that my bridesmaids and Michael’s groomsmen get more comfortable with one another and I think that this weekend brought us one step closer to that. Here’s to the rest of the wedding planning process! I can’t wait to see what’s in store for the rest of the year.
I hope you enjoyed my engagement party recap! Have you ever attended an engagement party? Let me know down in the comments.
