Choosing the perfect wedding venue isn’t easy. When you’re going through the wedding planning process one of your first thoughts after the excitement all soaks in and you figure out your budget for the whole ordeal is probably concerning which venue you are planning on choosing for the reception…or in my case, both the ceremony and the reception. There are quite a few things that need to be taken into consideration when choosing a venue so I will be sharing some tips and tricks on choosing the perfect wedding venue. In my last wedding related post I shared how to go about choosing bridesmaids dresses.
Choosing the Perfect Wedding Venue
Before You Start Checking Out Venues:
Figure out your venue budget // First things first, you absolutely have to figure out how much you’re willing to spend on a venue prior to even beginning your search. You don’t want to fall in love with a venue completely out of your price range and have every other venue fall short in comparison after that.
Figure out how many people you want to attend // Same goes as #1, you don’t want to fall in love with a place prior to knowing how many people you are expecting at your wedding. Just make sure to sit down and figure out at least a rough number of how many people you want to invite prior to even starting your research.
Pick your wedding date // It will be difficult to pick a venue without knowing your wedding date considering most venues book out pretty far in advance so knowing this prior to beginning the hunt for a venue is key.
When Deciding on Your Venue:
Decide on what feel you want your venue to have // Are you looking for a more classic or rustic venue? Take these things into consideration when looking for a venue. I toured a few different venues with different styles before choosing.
Call around before going to different venues // There’s no point in visiting a venue if they’re not available on your wedding date so call your top 10 or 15 venues to see their availability beforehand. Then you can make appointments to tour the ones that are available on your date so you’re not wasting your time.
Consider what you want out of your venue // Do you want to have both your ceremony and reception there? Do you want it to be all inclusive? Make sure that you figure out all of these things before deciding on a venue. I am very thankful that my venue is all inclusive so that when I decided to choose that one – I didn’t have to look elsewhere for much because they are doing most everything for me.
I hope that these tips are able to help you pick the perfect wedding venue. Have you ever decided on a wedding venue? Feel free to let me know down in the comments.
