Hey y’all, happy Monday! I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. As some of you probably already know, I had my bridal shower this weekend and I thought it would be fun to share with you all the details of the day. My maid of honor did such an amazing job planning the bridal shower and everything in between. You can follow along with the rest of my wedding planning journey here. Now onto my bridal shower recap.
These were the adorable little petit fours that my MOH got for the shower. They have my new monogram on them because the theme was monograms and mimosas. I will be dropping my middle name and keeping my last once I’m officially married so that’s why it’s JSB instead of JSL.
This wasn’t everyone who came to the shower, but it was the sorority sisters that did plus my mother because she was an Alpha Omicron Pi too!
This is me and the best MOH ever, Katy! She’s the one who’s made this whole getting married and planning a wedding process a lot easier on me and I surely couldn’t do it without her.
This is me and my mom! She also helped with the bridal shower and has been there for me through all things wedding related to keep me from going crazy during this stressful but fun process of planning a wedding.
Amaris helped Katy set up the bridal shower and has been around a lot for the process as well so I am very grateful for her.
Another picture of all of the AOII’s at the shower. Thank y’all so much for coming, I truly appreciate it.
Since the theme was Monograms and Mimosas, this was the little mimosa bar set up. There was champagne, orange juice, cranberry juice, and raspberry lemonade to choose from, plus blueberries, strawberries, and raspberries to put in your drink.
A look at the treats plus the little details at the bridal shower.
Me and my little, Katie.
My lovely bridesmaids minus my big because she’s all the way in Virginia now and wasn’t able to make it but she was there in spirit.
Isn’t this champagne balloon the cutest thing you’ve ever seen?
I figured the best way to do this recap would be showing the pictures first and then including all the details. So first off when everyone got there we ate and chatted for a little bit and then jumped into an ice breaker type game. The game consisted of just me and my MOH asked me to answer questions that my fiance, Michael had already answered to see if we got them right. I actually did pretty well but there were a few questions that I got a little stumped on. I’m not one who likes to be put on the spot so I’m almost positive that my face was a bright shade of red the entire time I was answering those questions, but I made it through.
After that, we refilled our mimosas and munched on some desserts. Then it was time for the what’s in my bag game. Basically, there’s a checklist of items worth a different amount of points so whoever got the most points won. When playing this game, you discover how many random things people have in their bags. I brought my little crossbody so I didn’t have much of a shot winning the prizes. After playing the game, it was time to open presents. As I mentioned above, I’m not the type to enjoy being the center of attention so having people watch me open gifts makes me a little uncomfortable, but I was so thankful and blessed when it was all over because my girls got me some awesome gifts. My mom got us custom champagne flutes for our wedding day and Michael’s mom basically spoiled me with tons of goodies too. Everyone had such thoughtful gifts and I couldn’t be more appreciative.
After that was over we had time for one more game so we played a game of taboo with movies about love stories. It was really fun and everyone surprised me with their taboo talent. Then once that was over, we headed outside for some group pictures and then it was time to head out.
All in all, I had a wonderful day and am so thankful for all the wonderful people in my life. In just 3 short months, I will be saying “I do” to the man of my dreams with some of my favorite people by my side and I absolutely cannot wait. I hope y’all enjoyed my bridal shower recap.
