2017 is here to stay so it’s time to set your intentions for the New Year. If being more productive is one of your goals or intentions, then you have come to the right place. Today I’m talking all about productivity and how to be productive in the New Year. Without further ado, let’s hop right in, shall we?
Ways to Be Productive in the New Year
Start your day off on the right foot
I don’t know about you, but when I’m in a rush in the morning – things do not go so well. I’m all about getting an extra 10 minutes of sleep or so but rushing out the door just to forget your lunch or any other important essential for the day does not make for a productive day. So set an intention to wake up just 10-15 minutes earlier than you usually do and start your day off with a bang.
You can even set your stuff out the night before to ensure that you don’t forget it. I used to do that with my work clothes and now I do it with my gym clothes so that there isn’t any reason that I don’t go to the gym in the mornings. Going to the gym starts my day off on the right foot but for you it may be being able to meditate or having time to sit down and eat some breakfast before heading to work.
Make a to-do list & stick to it
If you’re a visual person like I am, then writing down your to-do list each day is an absolute must. I’m one of those people that honestly would not get a single thing done if it wasn’t written down. I’m not forgetful, but it’s nice to have my day mapped out in advance before it even begins. Of course your schedule will shift around as different things come up but having a starting point is helpful.
Get active
Lots of people set goals of getting fit or losing weight in the New Year and I’m surely one of them. I find that when my brain isn’t functioning well it really helps to get outside and get active. I’m not saying you need to go hit the gym every time you brain is starting to feel a little groggy but taking a quick walk outside or even just around your office helps tremendously for your mental health. It gets your eyes away from technology and also gives you the boost you need to get back to work.
What are you doing to be productive this New Year? I’d love to hear it down in the comments.
