So y’all know I’m all about being transparent around these parts but I definitely went back and forth on if I should do a traffic report this month because I was pretty dang disappointed in my results. But fear not, I decided to be real + raw with y’all and share my results. Some months your traffic is going to be less than others and that’s a-okay. I have to attribute my lesser traffic to Pinterest being a bit slower of a month for me. Pinterest is notoriously a bit slower during April since it’s finally starting to warm up outside. I compared my stats year over year and last April I had fewer page views from Pinterest than I did this April so at least I’ve improved year over year, right? Now let’s dive in and share how I did in terms of traffic and social media growth, last month’s goals, and lessons I’ve learned for my April traffic report.

Unique pageviews – 6,244 ( 0.44 decrease from March)
Bounce rate – 81.18% (0.91 increase from March)

Users – 3,638 (0.17 decrease from March)
Bloglovin – 749 ( 0.01 increase from March)
Social Media
Pinterest: 11,018 (0.01 increase from March)

April Blogging Goals Recap
26k Instagram followers – this month was a little slower in terms of following – yikes but I’ll definitely get there soon.

11,300 Pinterest followers – and again, nope.
Reach 11.5k pageviews – not even close. Kind of embarrassing actually.

What I’ve Learned this month…
- Don’t focus on vanity metrics // I didn’t meet any of my blogging goals this month and at first, that was pretty defeating but it was certainly a good month in terms of everything else blogging related. I got to go to my first ever overnight media event, got a few awesome collaborations, and bought my ticket to my first ever blogging conference.
- The only thing you truly own is your email list and blog // With all the algorithm changes leaving me feeling defeated this month, I’ve come to the conclusion that my main focus should be my blog and email list. Although I do love social media and see quite a bit of traffic from it, it’s constantly changing so it’s not something that I can bank on.
Your Turn:
I hope you enjoyed my April traffic report.
