In 2017 I wanted to:
Personal
Hit the gym a few times a week and really get into a solid routine // I’ll give myself half credit for this one because some months I did amazing and others not so much.
Figure out a good work schedule now that I’m self-employed // I think I have finally started to get my work from home schedule down.
Read 24 books // I made 12 out of 24 so not terrible but nowhere near what I wanted to do.
Travel to a few new places // We were able to go to San Francisco in April of this year. I went to Vegas and Chicago too but those are not new places for me so that doesn’t count.
Buy first home with my husband // So in April we got under contract for a house but upon further inspection, we would have had to pay over 10k to get the place completely rewired so we ended up having to back out of our contract, unfortunately. Eventually, we will be able to buy but for now I’m okay with just renting.
Finance
Save money // Definitely not the easiest goal to accomplish your first year of self-employment but it also could have been worse too.
Make at least the same I was making monthly at my day job between both Breakfast at Lilly’s and Confetti Social // I didn’t work towards this as much as I hoped but the last three months have been great and I hope this keeps up in 2018.
Continue paying off student loan debt // I didn’t even start this one because I don’t graduate from graduate school until winter of 2018 but maybe I’ll get a headstart this year.
Education
Continue to make all A’s in my graduate school courses // So far, so good. Grad school has been good to me so far.
Take courses to further myself with this blog and my business // I took quite a few courses in the beginning of the year but put myself on a course spend freeze so I could save money later in the year.
Improve my photography/start working on video projects // I completed half of this one but I am planning on making 2018 my year for video.
